How an online beer retailer benefits from AI-driven replenishment

Beerwulf is a fast-growing e-commerce organisation selling craft beers, ambitious to become the European leader in its market. Rapid growth implies the need for cost-effective tooling and a scalable strategy. The replenishment process used to be a manual, highly labour-intensive task, prone to human error. Inventory levels were based on a rudimentary sales and promotion impact forecast. This led to an ordering approach driven by gut-feeling. Tired of hacking together Excel sheets & losing money on expensive one-size-fits-all solutions, the retailer was looking for lean & lightweight tooling that would enable the company to reach optimal stock levels without having to spend substantially more resources. We solved the retailers’ pains by bringing the appropriate data together, applying a custom sales-predicting
algorithm and developing a clean interface that enables the Inventory Manager to order the right amount of items over and over again, with the mere click of a button.
